Chisels and hand plane blades are sharpened on a Tormek machine. A primary bevel will be created with the lowest three grits of diamond wheel and a micro bevel will be created with the finest grit of diamond wheel. The back of the blade will be flattened on the finest grit of diamond wheel. The apex will be polished on a leather wheel to ensure that the burr is fully removed and to ensure that the apex is fully polished. All blades are meticulously inspected with a loupe throughout the sharpening process to ensure that the apex is fully formed and to ensure that the burr is fully removed.
